History

Business and Innovation Centre Bratislava has been operating in Slovakia for more than 30 years. During its existence BIC Bratislava has participated in more than 70 Slovak and international projects, helped to conclude more than 200 international partnerships and actively communicates with more than 2 000 clients from the academic and private sectors.

1991
Establishment of BIC Bratislava as the first Slovak institution focused on support innovative start-ups.

1992
Establishment of the first business incubator in Slovakia.

1997
Coordinator of the Slovak representation of the Network of Innovation Relay Centres.

2002
Development of regional development activities focusing on preparation of Regional Innovation Strategies (RIS), active cooperation with the administrative regions in Bratislava, Trnava and Prešov.

2008
Enterprise Europe Network Coordinator in Slovakia - the world’s largest support network for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international ambitions. 

2012
Providing services to support technology transfer in the NITT SK project (National Infrastructure to Support Technology Transfer in Slovakia).

2013
Elaboration of the Bratislava Intelligence Specialization Strategy and participation at the preparation of the national strategy of intelligent specialization (S3).

2016
