Background
Project ISTER was initiated in the framework
of 5th Framework Programme of European Union for RTD and demonstration
activities, within the specific call "Mechanisms for setting-up
innovative firms". Project ISTER is organic part of a group
of projects of 5FP, and exploits experiences of regions of
excellence in this area.
Region
Project ISTER is carried out in the trilateral
boarder region of Austria - Hungaria - Slovakia without exact
boarder limits. One of the final aims of the project is multiplication
in similar European regions.
Concept
The concept of the ISTER project is based
on creation of virtual incubator . This will include the internet
page aimed to promote the project, to acquire participants
and to promote participants themselves. The internet concept
will be combined with direct provision of services by experienced
experts in this area.. The services will be provided in specific
package focused on cross-boarder activities.
Target group
Project ISTER is focused on innovative SMEs
from region under project with cross-boarder ambitions, with
perspective of benefiting from the project. The provided services
will be targeted to following areas:
- support of export within region under project
- support of technology transfer
- support of cross-boarder acquisition of financial
resources
- support on joint-venture creation
- support of university spin-offs
- support in utilising of EU tools and programs
applicable
- other activities with aim of support of cross-boarder
ambitions
The aim of the project is to approach 5000 innovative start-ups
from the region, to evaluate 100 of them and to select 15
companies for the virtual incubator.
